squint to Showcase in Nashville
for Film & Television Conference
Music off of squint’s latest release, Tinsel Life, will
be showcased for placement in commercials, TV shows, and movie
soundtracks
Nashville – squint, has been selected
to perform a highly sought after and coveted spot at the 2003
All About Music Showcase, an event where music supervisors from
New York and Hollywood converge on Nashville to find rock and
country music that would fit well with their movies and television
shows. The list of artists performing is extremely small; squint
is one of only 8 of the best unsigned bands in the country that
will play alongside 7 major label artists.
Former EMI Music Publishing Creative Director
Emmit Martin formed All About Music in 2000 as a vehicle for talent
to gain placements in popular television programs, film projects
and movie soundtracks. All About Music has staged two highly successful
and much talked about musical gatherings in Nashville and has
helped garner exposure for the Nashville community in music supervisor
circles.
As a result of past retreat success stories,
the All About Music TV & Film Retreat has positioned itself
as the preeminent outlet for major and independent labels to showcase
their artists while establishing a roll-up-the-sleeves-and-get-results
reputation within the industry. All About Music event participants
and clients have earned song placements on NBC’s “Third
Watch,” the WB’s “Felicity,” UPN’s
“The Twilight Zone” and a live performance on HBO’s
“Def Jam Poetry Slam” among others.
Sponsors of the event include Curb Records
(Tim McGraw, LeAnn Rimes), the Country Music Association, SESAC
(Society of European Stage Authors and Composers), the Nashville
Songwriters Association International, and Sonicbids.
Squint will be giving their performance
at The Mercy Lounge in Nashville on Friday, June 13th at 7:30pm
– the show is free and open to the public.
