Jes Ramblin' column

Ruston-based rockers, squint, recently received an ASCAP Plus award from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).

ASCAP is a performing rights organization that collects royalties for musicians, represents the concerns of musicians in government and works to help further the success of serious artists. The ASCAP Plus award is designed to reward active and important artists at the early stages of their careers before they have a large source of income.

ASCAP determined that squint deserved the award based on their aggressive touring schedule, college radio play and the hard work they have put into maintaining the forward momentum of their latest release, "Tinsel Life."
