Any funny or weird stories from being on the road:
We were headed back home from a series of shows in Texas when our van overheated for the ninth time. (Many of our weird experiences seem to revolve around van breakdowns.) Dane was soon picked up by a stranger known to us only as Doctor Bob. I was fairly convinced that I would never be seeing my life-long friend again.
After several minutes of increasing boredom I decided that I would make a journey into the roadside wooded area and do some exploring. I discovered a lake about a hundred yards in and settled down on the shore for a few minutes of reflection. Several birds soon appeared on the horizon and I quickly realized that the fowl were intending to descend upon me. I nervously got to my feet as they slammed one by one into the water before me. As I took a few steps back from the water’s edge the ducks frantically made their way in my direction. Unsure of their intentions, I backed away further and they responded by plodding and waddling out of the water and up the beach. I then turned and began briskly walking back through the woods in a zig-zag fashion.
The persistent creatures followed me on a journey one would consider arduous for a duck and did not give up chase until I actually climbed into the van.

First of all, let it be known that I don’t really have favorites. I’m not a favorites kind of guy. I need variety to be happy. That’s why I love the road. That said, here are my favorites for this particular 20 minute block of my life.

Do you like to give hugs?
Yeah, yeah….especially those sleazy hugs that you give when you really want to do more than hug.
Do you like to take walks in the rain?
Yeah, as long as I’m alone and feeling sorry for myself, but if I’m fine I prefer to simply stand in the rain.
Have you ever had that falling dream?
I have dreams about falling down elevator shafts all the time.
What is your favorite word?
Sure
What is your favorite phrase to say?
“It might get better, it might get worse, it might stay the same.” I like to have the illusion that all my bases are covered.
What do you do when you are bored?
You know what I do when I am bored. Sicko.
Thing to do in your spare time?
I do it then, too. Sometimes I play guitar, though.

I like those honey-bunches-of-stuff type cereals.

Again, I need variety…once you’ve spent some time on the road your favorite drink becomes the one you hadn’t had in awhile. I like to try anything I’ve never seen before. That holds true for a lot of things in my life.
Favorite alcoholic drink?
The one that when I wake up the next day makes me say, “That kicked ass!” and not the one that makes me go, “Oh shit. Not again.”
Favorite Ice Cream flavor?
Usually stuff that has a bunch or swirls of different flavors and ingredients. See, variety. But I do like coffee-flavored ice-cream quite a bit.

I’m really fond of deep electric blue, especially when it’s blown into glass.
